The Sussex Interclub was originally started by the heads of 4 sussex clubs in 2007. After a successful initial year in 2008 it really took off & another 5th club was introduced, along with a badge system, individual scoring table with trophys for places from 1st to 3rd, junior shield & 1st place team shield/trophy.
The 5 clubs being, Buxted, Ford, The Oaks, Swallows & ourselves Horsham (see the links for other club details) . It was started to give Sussex shooters & juniors a competition in the south throughout spring/summer, so people had the choice to shoot nearer home rather than running all round the country to the UKAHFT events & this seemed to work very well, with over 100 different competitors entering throughout the series in 2008 !!
The series had 8 different juniors competing & it was good to see all of them improving over the year, some now outshooting the adults, which is great to see in our sport you have to agree !
The course itself is set to UKAHFT rules, killzones from 15 to 40mm, distances from 8 to 45 yards etc. & is open to the imagination of the course setters to how easy or hard it's set on the day. Some targets could be up in tree's, some could be behind shrubs, some behind objects where it makes you really think about the pellets trajectory... the list is endless.
All in all it's a great little series & if you live in the south it's well worth popping along to one of the events, just check the calendar for dates.
